In a recent press release, Nintendo outlined its plans to reward early purchasers of Pokémon Black and White Version 2 with free DLC. For those lucky enough to play between October 7 and November 12, the “mythical” bug/steel Pokémon Genesect will be available free for download on the DSi eShop. (Even if it looks less “steel” or “bug” and more like a mix between Scyther, Wario’s convertible and a tank.)
With mixed viewpoints from the
gaming community about the upcoming release, Nintendo’s giveaway may be
designed to sway fans who may be on edge about another $40 purchase. The
company talked up their purple creation stating, “Genesect, the newly
discovered Mythical Pokémon, has been restored from a 300-million-year-old
fossil. Modified by Team Plasma, this Pokémon has a signature move called
Techno Blast. Genesect is the only known Pokémon with this move… [and has] the ability
to adjust its power levels based on the foe it's battling.”
